Exceptional Value February 16, 2018 Reviewer: Dan from Colchester, CT United States   I could not be happier with the bar. The welding is more exceptional than ever, beautiful and consistent, and improved from gear I bought just a year ago. I order all of my gear from Dean in bare steel partly just to appreciate the welds. The knurling is effective but not sharp, and certainly not cheap. Insane knurling is unnecessary anyway with hex bars; your neutral grip is far stronger than your pronated barbell grip. NOTE: If you have reservations about raised handles because you think they are "cheating," keep in mind that the typical height of a bar from the floor (8.75") is the product of a simple manufacturing decision, nothing sacred or special. 8.75" could just as easily have been 6 or 16, so dont let the absurd dogma of the Olympic plate stop you from lifting with higher handles if you need/prefer it. (High handle hex bar deadlifts plus Romanian barbell deadlifts yield equal if not arguably better results than conventional barbell deadlifts alone anyway.) Was this review helpful to you?

BW Raised Hex bar February 16, 2018 Reviewer: Tom from Missouri   It came in good shape. It weighed in at 34.4 lbs which throws off your weight calcs a bit but makes up for it by having thick, knurled handles. I was tired of the 1" handles on my previous cheapo. These are 1.25" handles.Enough to make your forearms work without it being so big you can't pull any weight.Glad I did not do the 2" handles.Knurling chalks up nice and bites.Not the lame soft knurling I have seen before.After a set w 335 I went to get my gloves, lol, but rather be like that than slipping out.I usually buy Rogue stuff but I didn't want a hex that was 30ft long and this fit the bill.I'm not pulling 900lbs.Seems sturdy so far.Mine does not have the welded corner caps like the bar in the picture but as long as it doesn't explode on me I'm ok with it.Most of all I respect what this guy is doing.He's building his business one client at a time with hard work.I'm proud to buy from this guy & pay a few $ extra to keep it in our country.Time to see what else he has that I need now Was this review helpful to you?

Hex Bar with Raised Handle August 6, 2017 Reviewer: Lou from Glendale, CA United States   I received my Hex Bar a a few days ago. It packaged well and it arrived in great condition. My 4th BWTG bar June 24, 2017 Reviewer: R Alexander from Benicia, CA United States   This raised handle trap bar is my 4th bar purchased from BWTG.  My others are a rackable hex bar, Safety Squat Bar, and a rackable curl bar.   This one is like the rest; great welds, very good coat that holds chalk well, and above average knurlling. Hex bar March 17, 2016 Reviewer: Matthew Castaneda from Lakewood, CA United States   Not going to rate because I'm hoping after the reviews I read that my product  experience was an oversight. While the design of the hex bar i love, the workmanship of the welds is very questionable. Between the spatter, unevenness, clumping and overflow, and in some instances barely complete, I'm honestly worried how it will Hold up over time and heavy use. 3/17/2016 ***Dean here, email me pictures. I weld these personally. I would love to see my missed welds and how they are not complete, uneven, clumpy and overflown.
