5 of 5 Allows the lifter to focus on actually squatting February 22, 2016
Reviewer: Mike from Lancaster, Massachusetts
The bar is well made.  The welds are top notch and the powder coat is resilient.  The coat has some friction to it making it easy to grip.  It's a hollow bar (as most axle bars are) weighing about 25 lbs.

I've always experienced discomfort doing front squats.  I use a clean grip, but I have some flexibility issues that make it difficult for me to keep my elbows up when the weight gets heavy.  I've tried lifting straps and ssbs and cross-arm grip, but the weight always seems to shift around on my shoulders.  This bar solves that problem.  It makes for a very stable and relatively comfortable front squat.  Instead of focusing on the pain in my wrists as the bar starts to drift forward, I'm able to concentrate on actually squatting the weight.

An all around excellent product that works as advertised.

5 of 5 A superb addition February 19, 2016
Reviewer: Ryan Smith from Colorado Springs, CO United States
I was using an ssb without pads for a front squat bar prior to this purchase. That worked somewhat well except for the need to focus more on preventing the weight from shifting than driving the bar up. This bar solved that problem.  I also used runner loops (climbing gear) for straps on a barbell for front squats, but that allowed the entire load to shift at times. Especially if doing max efforts with any hip dominance. No shifting with this bar.  All it is is a stable, comfortable, safe alternative when my wrists are worn out or I otherwise can't rack a bar.
The bar is very light, allowing a lighter start for some lifters, such as the injured or novices. Simple spring clamps work well for collars. Great for things like fat bar curls. I also like it for axle pin presses.

5 of 5 Great Bar! July 21, 2015
Reviewer: Ark from Lincoln, MA
Excellent choice if you struggle with your flexibility, but do want to front squat. Also, very good in teaching technique.
My brother in low is about 6'4" and he loves the bar that allows him to squat below parallel without any issues. I am 6'2" with troubled shoulder and this bar is a blessing for me as well.
Highly recommended!
Thanks BWTG!!!
